“I wanted to congratulate you on the organisation of the European Identity Conference. It was a pleasure to interact with my peers and discuss strategy. I am looking forward to the next one.” Ariel Gordon Director Enablers, Orange France Telecom - Group Strategic Marketing
Thanks to 450+ attendees, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors and press members, EIC 2008 has met its role as a major platform to create, support and foster the dialog between thought leaders and users, but as well between thought leaders themselves, between Europeans and Americans, vendors, vendor partners and users, between open source initiatives and the market. Intensive discussions inside the sessions and outside, exchange of experiences and ideas - We think, Ariel Gordon's statement above represents an opinion shared by most of us. Thank you for attending and contributing. See you again next year on May 5 - 8, 2009. Until then, please visit the European Identity Conference Blog regularly for news and updates.

How to efficiently manage internal and external Identities in complex Collaboration Environments
Organizations regularly need to share information and applications internally and with external partners. Relationships with external identities, not only in manufacturing related projects, tend to be complex. They change on a project to project basis between competitional and collaborative, rising requirements for provisioning and access rights management to a level which usually cannot be solved by "traditional" Identity Management solutions. This Forum will describe different approaches to manage, audit and measure cross-enterprise information sharing.

Reducing the Cost of enforcing Controls and achieving Compliance through Identity Management
The 2008 Finance Forum at the European Identity Conference will explore Governance, Risk and Compliance aspects specific for Finance industries in Europe. Efficient risk-based Identity Management is more and more becoming a key differentiator from the competition, as threat scenarios are becoming more sophisticated and at the same time identity fraud and identity theft awareness rise amongst customers and partners. The need for and value of compliance automation has been evident in this context. But how can it be achieved efficiently? Join this Forum and get the right answers.

Implementing Standards, Securing Interoperability
1st Generation eGovernment applications - in spite of EC efforts - in general are isolated solutions, where industry standards and integration with similar services in other regions usually don´t played a big role. This panel will focus on how to change this through adoption of Identity Federation and User Centric Identity approaches. Felix Gaehtgens will moderate this interesting track, in which Public Services CIOs and Identity Management Thought Leaders will discuss their points of view.

Improving Operational Efficiency and Patient Loyalty in Hospitals
eHealth is more than just a smartcard for patients. It first and foremost starts at streamlining internal processes in hospitals, enababling management of identities based on business roles in a highly regulated environment. At the same time the electronic patient´s act enables on the one hand substantial saving potentials, on the other hand it improves the mutual trust between medical facilities and patients. The eHealth panel 2008 as part of the European Identity Conference will be moderated by Dr. Joerg Caumanns from Fraunhofer Institute.
