Dr. Joerg Caumanns is head of the "Secure Business-IT Solutions" department at the Fraunhofer Institute for Software and Systems Engineering in Berlin, Germany. His work focus is on interoperability between hospital IT systems. In 2004/2005 he was the technical project coordinator for the solution architecure of the German Electronic Health Card. Since 2006 he is the project manager of the "Electronic Case Records" initiative. His main reasearch interests are on trust brokerage and access management solutions for hospitals.
